Lionfish
The Lionfish is a relative newcomer to the Caribbean and east coast of the United States. The story goes that these attractive but deadly fish escaped from Aquariums during a hurricane and found their way to The Atlantic. Their numbers have grown at a fast rate and are now found along the Eastern Seaboard of the US, through the Bahamas and into the Caribbean. Fishermen hate these fish as their spines carry strong toxins which cause great pain, plus the Lionfish are devastating the grouper population. But at last there is some good news. There is a recipe for cooking Lionfish. I don’t have the recipe but hopefully Red Lobster does!
